Slieve Bloom Story Telling Festival
We were so lucky this year to have a visit from Stephen Lally, a story teller who was involved in the Slieve Bloom Story Telling Festival. He showed us how he could make animal noises with his diggery doo. We all got a fright when he was the elephant but it was very funny. He told the Infants and 1st-2nd class a story about the three little pigs and we all were trying to huff and puff and blow the pigs homes down. He also brought musical instruments and we all played a song together. He was very funny and we had great fun getting involved in the story and making a song.
Stephen then told stories to the Senior classes. First he told them about a Greek Legend where a sailor tricks a Giant into a cave and traps him. He then told them about an Irish tale where fairies danced on a selfish mans roof to torment him. They really enjoyed all of the stories as they were able to get involved by making sounds or chanting along with the characters. He then gave out the instruments and they made up a song. He played his diggery doo and when he made the elephant noise he gave everybody a fright. We all really enjoyed the story telling.
